Thanks to his vision and commitment. Mr. Abd EL Meguid Rostom, the fourth generation leader of the business, successfully expanded the business during the socialist situation in Egypt of the 1950s and 60s. HE became a major Egyptian exporter of potatoes, onions, garlic, ground nuts, water melon and other products to all of Europe and the Arab countries, at the same time importing a range of fresh fruits, dried fruits and nuts beside other food staff items. By purchasing a substantial amount of land in different parts of the Desert road, Nobaria and Wadi Natroun, which was allowed by the E.E.C. he was able to build a packing houses for potatoes, onions, garlic, ground nuts and other related products.

His son, Mr. Mohamed Rostom established his company, Marco import and Export as one of Rostom groups of companies. Marco. deals specially in exporting oranges, potatoes, onions and garlic while importing fresh fruits such as apples, cherries, peaches, prunes and pears, Chinnese garlic, fresh coconuts, dried fruits, nuts and other foods staff.

Rostom Company for Import and Export was established by the second son Mr. Sherif Rostom as one of Rostom group of companies dealing in exporting items such as potatoes, oranges, onions and garlic.

The new generation of the family, Mr. Mohamed and Mr.Sherif Rostom undertook an extensive modernisation of the company, its packing houses and farms.

In 2008 the company obtained quality certificates, including: BRC, HACCP, IFS, TESCO, ISO 9001 /2000, ISO 14001, ISO 22000 for the companies and packing houses plus theGlobal gap (Europ Gap) Certificate for the farms.
